Merging Solutions for Acquiring Success
Company
The customer is a major player in the Healthcare Life Safety Products and Services space, providing the highest quality solutions in the Acute Care, Long-term Care, Educational, and Commercial Safety industries.
Business Challenge
As part of their innovation into combining services to create more effective solutions for their customers, they needed help building an integration and communication layer for their offerings. This work required a configurable integration layer to enable several disparate software services to communicate with each other to create a comprehensive platform. This required a combination of technical integration work and team coordination across several teams to build out this offering.
Solution
ThorTech met with business leaders to determine the long-term and short-term goals for their new product offering. Once these were determined, coordination across all technical teams was managed to ensure effective communication would be established and maintained throughout the process. Some products needing integration were running on-premise, and some were in the cloud, so containers (EKS) were used to ensure a portable deployment model. Some of the products were already using microservices with APIs. Others had to be built. The middleware was configurable to enable onboarding other 3rd party applications into the platform in the future.
Summary and Highlights
The integration has enabled seamless data-sharing between the apps to create a modular end-to-end solution. This unified health tech solution demonstrates the potential of integrating diverse apps through a microservices approach, bringing together a powerful suite of features for them to offer to their customers.
